What is parallel connection?

Parallel connection is a processing method in which multiple ports of a PLC are used to communicate in parallel.
In the communication settings of our application, you can define multiple communication ports for the same PLC and connect them in parallel.

The following is a data comparison of the communication time (ms) measured when acquiring 10000 word registers for both single connection (1 connection) and parallel connection through a communication connection with a Mitsubishi Electric Q Series PLC.

(Attention.) Whether or not you can get faster performance with parallel connections depends on the number of tags and the tuning of the PLC side. For example, if a small number of tags are communicated in parallel connections, a single connection may result in faster communication.

Logger Performance

The following performance is the average time per record when logging word register data to a CSV file as fast as possible using the logging function of our application. The unit of time is ms (1 second = 1000 ms).

What is device value/cache value?

Device value	This is the processing performance when logging with a setting that communicates with the PLC for each record of the logging process and acquires the actual data.
Cache value	This is the processing performance when logging using the cache value of the tag. Logging is performed without synchronizing with PLC communication processing for tag updates.

To verify logger performance, the "Logger Action" function of FA-Panel is used.

Verification conditions

During the test, only one PLC and one PC for verification were started up, and they were directly connected with a cross cable without a HUB.
The Ethernet connection ports of the PLCs used in the verification are all equivalent to 100BASE-T.
On the PLC side, the measurement is done with no ladder software built and in RUN mode.
